How to Add an Email Account (IMAP) to Your iPhone

Follow the steps below to set up your email on your iPhone:

1. Open Settings

  • Tap the Settings app on your home screen.

2. Go to Mail

  • Scroll down and tap Mail.

  • Then tap Accounts.

3. Add a New Account

  • Tap Add Account.

  • Choose Other at the bottom of the list.

4. Select “Add Mail Account”

  • Tap Add Mail Account.

  • Enter the following:

    • Name: Your name (as you’d like it to appear on emails you send)

    • Email: Your full email address

    • Password: Your email password

    • Description: A label (e.g., "Work Email")

Tap Next.

5. Choose IMAP

At the top, make sure IMAP is selected.

6. Enter the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Details

  • Host Name: (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com)

  • Username: Your full email address

  • Password: Your email password

7. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) Details

  • Host Name: (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com)

  • Username: Your full email address

  • Password: Your email password

Note: Username and password are required for both incoming and outgoing servers.

Tap Next and wait for it to verify.

8. Save the Account

Once verified, tap Save.

9. Optional: Check Advanced Settings

If needed, go to:

  • Settings → Mail → Accounts → [Your Account] → Account → Advanced

Ensure:

  • IMAP Path Prefix: INBOX

  • Use SSL: Enabled

  • Incoming Port: 993 (IMAP SSL)

  • Outgoing Port: 465 or 587 (SMTP SSL/TLS)
